Can from HomeBrewStuff Still think this is a golden, with orange and vanilla adjuncts. Not enough orange to make this a fruit beer. Hazy golden, airy head disappears. Nice grainy yeasty aroma with hints of sweet vanilla. Taste carries these forward, adding a small amount of bittering orange peel. Overall delivers a kind of cremesicle effect. Thought this was tasty and enjoyable.

Not an amazing beer but very well done. Nice strong characteristics of orange and vanilla on both the nose and in the taste. This is a very accessible and approachable brew for someone who might not ordinarily be hugely into beer.

12oz can from a six pack purchased at a grocery store in Spokane for about $9. I grabbed it for no other reason than it was local and different. According to the can, it's a "golden ale brewed with vanilla beans & orange peel." Presumably, this means no sugary artificial flavors were added as well, but that is not explicitly stated. There is no freshness date on the can, which features a bearded man skateboarding while clutching an orange-vanilla popsicle.

Poured into a Budge Bros. glass (RIP), this was a hazy, golden amber color, with an inch or so of off-white foam on top. Said head was noisy and short-lived, and left only the tiniest traces of spotty lace.

Vanilla dominates the nose, as it usually seems to when in beer. The orange peel comes through as well, but not at the same level. No hop or malt aroma to speak of. Smells like a dessert, as intended, but the balance seems somewhat off.

The taste is a lot closer to what was intended. Again, the malts and hops are masked by the vanilla and orange, but the latter steps up to the plate a bit more than in the nose, and approximates the taste of an orange creamsickle, or a Dixie Cup. It's not as sugary as I feared it would be, enough to tolerate a glass if, but I don't think I could session it.

Medium bodied, with a creamy mouthfeel.

This is best used as a dessert beer, and one will do me per occasion. It does what it sets out to do, certainly, but it's not something I would regularly want. Maybe a single can now and then, if in the mood, but I don't think I'll buy a sixer again.
