Draft at Pozt Street Ale House. Drak, bright golden, small skin of head. Grainy aroma. Taste is more of the grains with some drying bitterness at the finish. Creamy, slick feel, chewy.

Pours a gold color with a foamy off-white head that disappears quickly. No discernable aroma. Tastes of apples with some hoppy bitterness. Good mouth feel.

12 oz undated can into a lager glass.

Pours with an over-sized frothy head over an amber body with coarse (artificial?) carbonation visible.
Aroma of earthy and fruity hops, with a more earthy and minimally fruity flavor. Bold and hop forward for style. Mild+ bitterness.
Medium body and medium-high carbonation.

This is a pretty superb pale lager. If any of the macros tasted like this, they wouldn't be losing so much market-share to the craft segment.

Pours a clear, gold/orange colour. Decent white head, fairly strong retention. Smell has echoes of a Marzen-style: some toasted malt, biscuit, caramel. Noble hoping, slight vegetal hop bitterness. Superbly drinkable--great carbonation, light body that still has some nice character.

Would that this had entered the Alberta beer market earlier, I could have easily knocked back a few of these on a warm summer day.

12oz can, the second of two offerings from this brewery to breach the Alberta market. 'Pre-Prohibition' lager? Sign me up!

This beer pours a clear, bright medium copper amber colour, with two fingers of puffy, finely foamy, and mildly bubbly ecru head, which leaves some decent disintegrating coral reef lace around the glass as things evenly bleed away.

It smells of bready, doughy, and biscuity pale malt, a small caramel sweetness, some subtle green apple and underripe pear fruitiness, hints of wet ash, and earthy, weedy, and slightly grassy hops. The taste is gritty, grainy pale malt, biscuity caramel, muddled light orchard fruit, ethereal earthy spice, further light smokey notes, and a plain weedy, leafy, and fresh hay-like hoppiness.

The carbonation is nice and light, what with its frothiness tripping across my various palates, the body an adequate middleweight, and mostly smooth, nothing really pushing the envelope far enough to cause any trouble here. It finishes off-dry, the sturdy and complex malt keeping the music loud, and the party going.

Overall, a pretty flavourful and winsome lager, robust in a manner that one might imagine existed before the industrialization of the American brewing landscape, and the associated dumbing down of its mainstream product. And much like its Euro-style sibling, I could see no problem enjoying another few of these, especially as I am currently half-way through a detective novel set in 1905.

24K coloured Lager with a 2 finger head of foam, poured cold.

It smells grainy, malty, very light bitter note. The grain isn't all that strong so extra points for that.

Malty semi sweetness in the taste, light grain, an earthy type of hop bitterness with a mild spice character.

Exceptionally smooth with enough flavour to satisfy my taste buds, this is another delicious Lager from the gang at Orlison.

16 oz can bought from "lifesource" in Salem. $2.49 Pours a clear golden colour with a large thick and rocky white head. Actually typical "macro" lager aromas..sweet malts ,paper and some bread. Taste again like the usual industrial lagers but a tad sweeter and a lot cleaner..sweet honey and a touch of hop. Plate is just fine for style light and drinkable. Good clean American lager.
