Pours a hazy, gold color. 1/4 inch head of a white color. Decent retention and decent lacing. Smells of pale malt, hops, floral, grass, hint of cream, and slight yeast. Fits the style of an American Pale Ale. Mouth feel is sharp and crisp, with an average carbonation level. Tastes of pale malt, hops, floral, grass, hint of vanilla, slight earthy malt, and slight yeast. Overall, decent appearance, good aroma and body.

The CANQuest (tm) does not venture into the trading forums as much as it used to, largely due to a backlog that would bring anyone to their knees, but this one came as an extra in a recent trade for a particular O'Dell CAN. Many thanks! No trade like a CANTrade!

From the CAN: "Drink Responsibly"; "Beer has forever been an integral part of the history and fandom of soccer. In an effort to reward the passionate fans of St. Louis and bring awareness to the goal of having our own MLS team, STLFC and KSB have created Ale Fleur One. A balanced and flavorful [C]itra hopped ale, Ale Fleur One celebrates the past, present and future of soccer in St. Louis. Cheers!"

I Crack!ed that bad boy of 16-fl oz open like I knew what I was doing. I did know what I was doing on the Glug, however, and went with a very gentle one so as not to repeat tonight's earlier foaming disaster. The dense, tawny head still rose & rose and along with it, my sense of CANic, until it pillowed into two-plus fingers of dense, tawny head that slowly fell into an undying cap above the beer. Color was an oh-so-slightly hazy Golden-Amber (SRM = > 5, < 7). Nose had a light mintiness with a light breadiness. It was not going to blow anybody's minds, but I am not a fan of unyielding back-to-back beers. This seemed to be giving me a nice respite following the previous beer. Mouthfeel was thin-to-medium. The taste had a bready citrusiness, slightly grapefruity, but mild in total. Finish was semi-dry and while refreshing, I was ready to delve back into the bigger beers.

From a one-pint can, this pale ale is slightly hazy, with a big, puffy white head. The aroma is an engaging mix of citrus an pine. Grapefruit and pine-cones..rind and resin. Earthy and spicy. The taste is balanced, with a bit of bread and biscuit in the flavor, and an offsetting bitterness. Full in body and lingering hop finish. Solid and drinkable session ale.
