A pretty good oatmeal stout. Nothing out of the ordinary, but very well done with a prominent flavor profile. Very smooth and an easy drinking beer, even with the moderate ABV.

Highlands Oatmeal Stout:
A: Very dark and not cloudy. The head was very light brown in color, small bubbles, and didn't lace the glass very much.
S: Somewhere between caramel and malt. A slight, very slight, burnt coffee smell.
T: Caramel flavor with a very bitter finish...almost a burnt coffee.
M: Very carbonated, but it has a crisp and clean feel.
D: This beer is drinkable, but I wouldn't select it for a session beer.
Overall: This beer is not bad, but I'd select another beer given a chance.

Pours a black color. 1/5 inch head of a pale tan color. Slight retention and slight lacing. Smells of roasted malt, sweet malt, slight oatmeal, and hint of hops. Fits the style of an Oatmeal Stout. Mouth feel is smooth and crisp with an average carbonation level. Tastes of roasted malt, oatmeal, sweet malt, slight hops, and slight yeast. Overall, a good body, aroma, and blend.

Oatys were once my favorite style (before IPAs smacked me), and Dave's version is a tasty classic.
Opaque black, with a creamy tan head that leaves sheets of lace in the shaker pint glass.
Malt, and malt direct from the toaster in the aroma. The quaff? Roasty and burnt toast stout with a hint of coffee, with the oats really smoothing out the body. Dave's version provides a bit of a hop kick in the finish.
Just an overall tasty drinker - this will be a standard with the cooler temps this fall/winter.
