Pours a hazy deep golden color, almost light brown The khaki head is dense and creamy and left a nice wall of lacing on the glass. Quite a dark looking IPA.
The aroma is of dank hops. I pick up some onion, pine and tropical fruit notes. Not a very strong hoppy aroma. The malt has some caramel notes to it.
Earthy hop notes dominate the flavor profile. Big pine mixes with an oniony note. Some pineapple and overripe mango. The malt is substantial. Lighted toasted bread with honey and caramel sweetness. Some mineral flavors going on as well.
The beer has a moderate feel with prickly carbonation. Sweet on the palate but the earthy hop bitterness more than offsets it. Some lingering chalky bitterness in the finish.
A very beefy wet hopped IPA. I would think you would want to cut down on the malt to showcase the wet hops. Long Ireland did not do this in this beer. Nothing screams wet hopped in this one.

A: deep amber with orange highlights; just short of clear; tan mousse head trailed puffy lace down the glass
S: muted earthy pine notes and dark grain; suggests of herbs and wet grasses
T: subtle orange and tropical fruits, herbal and piney hops
M: medium weight, ample carbonation, mild bittering, slight chew; smooth...
O: darker hued sort of IPA with appropriate rustic character - nothing exceptional, but good local drinking.

Had it on tap at the Lark in East Northport last night, and it looked good with a nice thick head that faded slowly but it all went downhill from there; the nose was herbal and soapy with no juicy fresh hop aroma bursting out which I expect from a wet hopped beer. At a minimum, the nose should be pretty hoppy if wet hops were used in the mash and this seemed skunky. Maybe the line was dirty because it tasted the same way, with no real hop sweetness and a grainy funk that was bready and soapy. I'll look to try it again somewhere else as this was pretty poor based on what I had last night, and I always like to support local brewers so I'll look to give it another chance since I really enjoyed the Long Ireland DIPA in the past.

Pours deep amber with a slight hoppy nose with malts as well.
Hoppy burn on the start with lots of malt on the back end. Comes off a bit dirty tasting with some sugars on the finish. Instead of showcasing the local wet hops they seem muted with all the malt. The concept is awesome but I really did not enjoy the brew.
