Long Ireland 16 oz can chilled to refrigerator temperature, then poured into a pilsener glass. This stout is comparable to Guinness in many ways, but isn't a nitro brew. It has 4.9% alcohol compared to Guinness 4.2%. It has a fuller body and lasting roasted barley/malt aftertaste. For me, the body is about right, not overwhelming, but assertive. With few straightforward craft stouts now on local shelves, this is one to look for. I prefer it to Guinness.

-ebony with a thin foam cap. The aroma is typical for the style. The flavor includes toasted malt, with chocolate and a minute espresso note. At 50 def F +this is really good.

Poured black with a thin cap of head that left no lacing. Smells and tastes of dark chocolate, roasted malts, coffee and a bit of smokiness. Mesium bodied, lightly carbonated, slightly thin mouth feel and finishes slightly bitter.

The beer pours out black with some noticeable carbonation and a big, retaining, and frothy tan head.
The nose is malty with chocolate and slight smoke. Decently floral.
The drinking starts off dry and light with nice malt and chocolate flavors right upfront. A smooth flow that finishes slightly bitter. A nice smoky flavor really comes on and plays off the malt and chocolate tones really nicely. The mouth feel is on the lighter side and dry though out but it still holds up well with the style.
Overall, an enjoyable stout that packs some nice flavors for just 4.8% abv.

Overall excellent beer, starts out with a nice stout taste , nice flavor, not bland at all, not overbearing on the alcohol either. It sets the standard, sorry Guinness!
