Like kids with new toys, Dan and Greg brewed everything they could think of after trying out their new homebrew equipment on Dan's stove back in 2004. Over the years, one recipe they returned to time and again was a malty, well-balanced take on an ancient Gaelic recipe that would end up being released in 2009 as Long Ireland's flagship Celtic Ale.
Fit for a king, the kicked up version you're holding is an homage to the beer that made Long Ireland famous.

Decanted from a 16 oz (473 ml) can into a Captain Lawrence, muffin top pint glass; no production information.
A: Pours a hazy, rudy amber to dark copper color with garnet highlights, a short lived, light brick red head, brief, one to two finger head formation, rim retention, and limited soapy lacing.
S: Aromas of raisin, fig, toffee, bread rind, caramel and white pepper.
T: More semisweet than semidry and slightly tart. Palate follows the nose. Mineral flavor becomes stronger as it warm, eventually becoming iron. Strong bitterness for a red ale.
M: Medium bodied with moderate effervescence.
O: Drinkable, if a bit strong for this style. No off flavors, but doesn't quite come together either. Nice nose, but flavor pallet just a bit disorganized.
