Beyond The Pale. It's a phrase commonly used to describe behavior that breaks the rules. While we kept some of the original base malts, along with the Cascade & Citra hops - we modernized the recipe and added even more Citra and Mandarina Bavaria hops to take this crushable pale ale and push the boundaries a bit further.

Long Ireland "Beyond the Pale" Ale can at refrigerator temperature poured into a nonic glass in July, 2022. The can indicates that this is an update of their pale ale, with dry hopping of modern hops. It pours to a deep amber body topped by a modest almost-white head. The head persists and provides lacing. There is a good whiff of hop aroma after the pour. The taste is hop forward, with the flavor and bitterness providing a good initial hit and a flavorful aftertaste. There is a moderate malt body that, in my opinion, could have been upped a bit. This is an excellent modern Pale Ale that I'd like to see on draft.
