Bottle from the brewery #2 of 12
Pours a deep garnet with an smallish off white head that quickly dissipates to a wisp of foam on top that sticks around forever. Sweet and tart cherries along with a bit of brown sugar and some red wine vinegar make up the bulk of the aroma. There was a slight hint of cheesy funk upon first pour, but that seems to have subsided. The flavor is a little different than the aroma suggested. Sugary water up front that leads into a tart pitted fruit and lemon kind of affair. Hints of light funk lead into a lingering grapefruit and lemony tartness that sits on the back of the throat long after each sip. Medium body with a puckeringly dry mouthfeel and a light to moderate level of carbonation. Not a bad wild ale.
