22 oz bomber poured into a 16 oz beer goblet.
This IRS pours an opaque, deep brown, bordering on black with a one finger tall, creamy head the color of a Hershey bar which recedes to a thin cap that leaves no lacing on the glass as one drinks it down. Instead, it is so viscous that it coats the glass with a thin brown film. The smell is a little boozy with lots of roasted malt, molasses, and dark coffee, along with a little bit of dark, ripe, stone fruit. The taste follows the aroma with even even more roast malt and coffee and just enough molasses sweetness to make it a dessert drink. As it oozes across one's tongue it feels thick, rich, velvety and truly full bodied.
Overall, it's not as sweet as FBS, nor is it as bitter as Old Rasputin. It treads a middle ground, instead, and does so very well.

Beautiful opaque black pour with a thin dark head
smell is cocoa and a bit of booze
taste is dark chocolate first, oaky booze next with a drier finish than the smell and look would lead you to believe
Mouthfeel is slick and oily
overall a good beer that was different than what I was expecting in a good way

Bottle from the brewery.
Pours an inky black with a small but long lasting bubbly mocha head. The aroma is roasted coffee, light cereal grains, big molasses and prunes, milk chocolate, light earth and tannin. The flavor is big molasses and burnt sugars with plenty of bitter roast and chocolate to go around. Big rich sweet sugary brew with hints of dark dried fruits and a touch of earth. Full body with a thick oily sticky coating mouthfeel and a light level of carbonation. That's a huge sweet beer right there. Almost decadent, I enjoyed sipping on this most of the night.
