Sampled on December 24, 2011. From a 22 ounce bomber with a waxed on cap. The pour is medium amber and cloudy with a short lasting, foamy head that simmers down and becomes a ring. On the nose there ar plenty of caramel malts and a lightly hopped balance. The body texture is in the medium range, smooth and creamy. About the taste: It begins with about a millisecond of malty sweetness that explodes into a powerful bitter hopped ending that nearly takes over the entire flavor. It is my understanding that this was a variation of White Birch's Hooksett Ale brewed especially for Christmas 2011.
