Bottle from the brewery.
Pours a mostly clear medium golden color with a smallish bone white head that I have trouble mustering up and dissipates quickly to a ring on top. Wicked vinous aromas waft out of the bottle and glass immediately upon pouring. Grape skins, pepper, light spices, sugar and a touch of ethanol round out the nose. The flavor is quite vinous as the nose suggested with lots of grape and light fruits. Light sugary honey like malt deep underneath peppery spice with a hint of wood and solid shot of alcohol. Medium body with a light level of carbonation and a slick spicy sweet mouthfeel. Interesting beer but a bit out harmony. The base beer gets lost within the sea of wine and alcohol. I'd have loved a bit more body and sweetness to counter some of these elements.
