Bottled on 7/13/10 this bottles' been in the basement for a little while.
Lots of pressure behind the cap and a gentle pour fills most of the glass with tan foam. Aromas of chocolate roast and ash with a bit of tart cherry and raspberry. Light oak and vanilla with little to no hop aroma. The flavor is more sour than stout with raspberries and lemons providing the bulk of the flavor. There's a hint of tobacco and a bit of salty funk in the flavor with a touch of wood left over. Medium body with a spirited level of carbonation and a tart slick bubbly mouthfeel. Time has not been kind to this beer, there is virtually no stout left here and the tart funk that is left is only so so. I'll have to see what happens to the last bottle I have in the next few years.
