On-tap at SBBC
The pour is a clear amber color with a white head. Fairly sweet aroma. Some candied orange peel, bread, toffee, and a little bit of caramel. The hop character is minimal, mostly grass and a bit of floral aroma. Kind of a garbage smell to it, too. The flavor is mostly toffee and bread which gives it sweetness and the majority of the flavor. Minimal hop notes, mostly grass and floral with some citrus peel. Very minimal bitterness.

Poured from a draft into a pint glass at Santa Barbara Brewing Company in Santa Barbara, Calif. Color was hazy orange. Maybe an inch of head. Decent amount of film on the top. Lots of film on the sides throughout the pour.
Smelled of caramel pale malts. Also a strong whiff that almost seemed like someone tossed a shot of liquor into the beer.
Initial taste was caramel, but then that liquor bite came in. Bitter aftertaste.
Light-to-medium body. Creamy texture. Average carbonation. Buttery bitter liquor finish.
Huge letdown after the good IPA. Wish I would have done it the other way. Whoof.

Served on-draught into a pilsner glass at Santa Barbara brewing in October 2011. Paired with pizza. Reviewed from notes.
A: Pours a half finger head of nice cream, decent thickness, and bad retention. Colour is a clear orange-copper.
Sm: Light citrus ester hops over top a malted barley foundation. A moderate strength aroma.
T: Crisp, with citrus ester fruit hops, barley, and some bad malt that adds a sort of stale watery tone to the already lackluster balance. Badly built.
Mf: Coarse and wet. Doesn't match the flavour at all, but it's to style.
Dr: Drinkable but of limited quality. I wouldn't have it again.

Draft at brewery, 02/18/08.
Honey/copper color. No head, no carbonation.
No aroma from taster glass.
VERY subtle malt character, VERY subtle piney hop character, not so subtle corn finish.
Mouthfeel identical to water.
I can't really find anything good to say about this beer. There's no reason for me to ever drink this again.

Poured a copper color. Small head. Aroma is fruity, nutty and slightly sweet. A medium bodied pale ale.Typical pale of the macros. Not much time spent on it at all. Hops decently and very smooth. It a little bitter for a Pale Ale, but compensates with a nice malty sweetness.

Good solid pale ale from SB Brewing Co.
A - Deep golden color with a lasting white head.
S - Smells lightly of diesel gas, which isn't a terrible thing IMO, as I used to love smelling gas as a kid (which explains a few things about me...), but most people won't dig it.
T - Good, solid hoppy flavor with some light citrus notes. Pretty standard pale ale.
M - medium
D - Very

Medium brown color. Small head. Aroma is fruity, nutty and slightly sweet. A medium bodied pale ale. Malts are nutty and sweet. Hops are grapefruity, slightly spicy and fairly bitter. It a little bitter for a Pale Ale, but compensates with a nice malty sweetness. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and very smooth. Aftertaste is bitter.
