On tap at the brewery. Was told it's super hoppy.
Pours a nice golden orange.
Smells of malt, sugar and sweetness.
Taste is the same. I don't get any hops. Just malt, sugar and corn.
Not sure how this is a double IPA. Curious what the ibus are

Type: Draft
Glass: Pint glass
From: Santa Barbara Brewing Company
Price: $6.00
Misc.: Listed as Double IPA on the board (waitress said the new brewer that came in about a year and a half ago had new recipes and named his beer just IPA and Double IPA for those two (NOTE: I need to change my last year’s rating of the Castle Rock IPA (it was their regular IPA).
Poured a honey orange color with one finger of white head when I got it. Even icy lacing on the sides. Pretty good retention all the way down.
Poured an orange, caramel and slightly hazy with two fingers of frothy white head, which took a long while to disappear. Thick, foamy, wet and sporadic lacing on the sides. Nice retention on the top all the way down.
Smelled citrus hops (lemon, lime, grapefruit), slight resin hops and pine.
Tasted similar to the nose. Got those same citrus hops (grapefruit, lime) and pine.
Medium body. Creamy texture. Average carbonation. Bitter finish,.
A surprisingly good Double IPA. I don’t know why I was expecting something different, but this really hit the spot.
