Wee heavy scotch ale from Quebec. Pours a deep reddish brown with a two finger head. Very malty sweet, with little hop presence. Tasty, but could use more character. 8.7 abv.

Ruby red in color with a small off-white head. In the nose you get caramel aromas, sweet malts and some hops too. Lots of caramel in the mouth also, flavor of toffee is there too, really sweet. Long caramel finish, it's really smooth and you wouldn't guess it's 8.7%.

Appearance: It has a nice very dark brown color to it. It has a nice creamy beige head that dies down moderately and leaves little lacing.
Smell: The aromas definitely give out hints of caramel, toffee, brown sugar and some dark fruit (mostly raisins).
Taste: Like the aromas, it has a some sweet caramel, brown sugar, candi sugar, some toffee and faint prunes and raisins.
Mouthfeel: It has a low/medium carbonation with a nice overall balance and feel.
Drinkability: It's a very smooth drinkable beer accompanied with good flavors and aromas. Never would of guessed this was 8.7%.

Bottle: Poured a dark opaque brown color ale with a medium size foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma consists of candi sugar and deeply caramelized malt with slightly off grainy notes. Taste is also dominated by deeply caramelized malt with residual candi sugar notes and some slightly of grainy finish. Candy-like esters are quite nice and provide a nice touch of complexity. Body is slightly thin for style with good carbonation with light warming alcohol notes. Well brewed except for those grainy notes which I could have done without.
