Look: Pours deep rich brown, nearly black with a 1 finger tawny tightly bubbled head. The head dissapates into a thin 1/4 finger layer after 5 minutes.
Smell: Muted with dark leather and chocolate tones. There is a hint of a medicinal prune aroma.
Taste: Leathery and earthy. In the middle I pick up notes of cinnamon, and ginger as advertised on the can. Overall a decent, but basic imperial stout flavour profile with the traditional syrup like end game.
Feel: Very smooth, easy drinking for an imperial stout. The booze is wel hidden but present. Round and open as it warms. A discernable sweet syrup ending.
A solid B. Not the best imperial stout available in Ontario at this price point, but worth a try.
