Look: Clear bright orange with brown notes. Head pours 1 1/4 fingers white and densely bubbled. At 5 minutes there is still a tiny solid head across the top of the glass.
Smell: Sweet, caramel and tropical fruits (passion fruit, mango). Distinct malt notes as well.
Taste: Solid malt body, biscuits and grains. Dominate caramel in the middle with a slight bitter touch of pine resin at the end. Touches of lemon and citrus notes on the back end as well.
Feel: Lightish body, with the body getting more pronounced at the end. Plays at the edges of the tongue, with a nice light bitter finish.
This is billed as an Australian IPA, owing to the 3 Aussie hops varieties used. It actually reminds me very much of an ESB, with a slight hint of pine resin hop in the mix. This brewery tends to be very malt forward, and they do alot of things pretty well. For my taste buds this is a solid B beer......but if your looking for a west coast piney IPA this is not for you, and if you want NEIPA juicy this is not for you. So go into this with an open mind, and don't put too much stock into it being like anything you expect in an IPA.
