On tap at Brugge. The "Taffy" part wasn't written on the chalkboard, but it makes a lot of sense.
Pours brownish and sparkly. A lot dark than what I expect from a Saison but it's not like I'm an expert when it comes to the style so whatever.
Smells strongly of toffee, thick and buttery. Not what I'd call Saisony--no botanical or floral complexities, no sunny weediness, no citrus. There is some zippy Belgian yeast in there, but not very much.
Tastes like it smells: not bad, but not up the snuff for the style. The malt profile is quite American, very biscuity and sweet, and that's backed up with sweetly alcoholic Belgian yeast. Simple and sweet.
