A very dark pour, frothy head that settles down to a skimcoat. Some lacing. We pick up the coffee notes, then some dark roast, a bit of expresso. Taste is mildly carbonated iced coffee, there's some malt and hops there, but the taste is muted and nothing really comes out. It's not a bad ale, but the competition in this niche is fierce. These guys do a good job on their lagers and most ales. This one needs some quality time and effort to improve.

22 oz bomber purchased from Trader Joe in Salem OR $5.99 Dark cola coloured body with a large ,attractive light tan coloured head. Oh WOW..the semi sweet coffee is strong in this one..beautiful really. Also a hint of hazelnut and Belgian milk chocolate. Taste more bitter than the aroma but mostly similar. Not to sweet. Mouth feel is slightly thin for style but well carbonated ..good drinkability..would do good in 6 pack cans. Very nice stout. Enoyed

This was one of the most successful beers I've had at highlighting a coffee flavor. It's very well done.

L - Deep brown, trending black with off-white head.
S - Some scent of cocoa, but mostly just smooth, rich, deep coffee
T - Coffee without bitterness, definitely a bit of sweetness, a touch of dark chocolate. I didn't pick up a lot of flavors other than coffee and cocoa, but that was a good thing in my book. Too many beers with coffee bombard you with booze or chocolate or chiles or whatever. Some blend those flavors well. But this one is more focused.
O - as noted, great highlight of the coffee flavor. Tastes great.
