Lemon Ginger Sour

a nice balance between the lemon and the ginger, both quite natural in here, and both have intense peaks at times, the lemon first in a puckery acidic pop, and then the ginger later in an earthy, zesty, spiciness that lingers past the swallow. the base beer is a simple kettle sour type, a pinch of crystal malt gives it a little body and a light orange color, but this really is about the lemon and the ginger, as well as the lactic souring, which is moderate but with the lemon and some time to warm up in the glass, is quite tart. i like the way this progresses, with just a little sweetness through it for balance, both the lemon and then the ginger have their moments, but they compliment each other nicely the whole way. this seems a little basic overall, but the added flavors are well proportioned and the souring is very clean here. in terms of this sort of beer at everybodys, i liked the white peach gose much better, but this is still a solid summery sour for those who like a bit of flavor in their beer. not a bad beer on the wall in here!
