Served in straight pint glass. Poured a hazy yellow orange color with less than 1/4 inch of white head that low retention and OK lacing.
The aroma nicely hop forward, a good blend of citrus, pine, and floral notes, and slight malt balance. The flavor profile was the same, hop dominated, as expected in the style, lots of lupulin love and just enough malt to provide a solid base.
The body was fairly typical for the style, a smooth malt base supporting a sharp hop bite. Drinkability was very good, I had a couple of these in a row. Overall, a nice take on the style that was a bit softer than I expected, but that I was glad for. A must try if you see it, and another reason for a road trip to White Salmon/Hood River.

On tap at the brewpub the other day.
The beer pours a golden amber color with light lacing and fair at best head retention. The nose is likewise not very impressive, as I pick up some fruity malt (cherry and apple), light honey and light dry citrus. The flavor profile replicates the nose, and while the beer is pretty bitter on the finish, the beer really doesn't deliver all that much flavor. It's almost a bit watery, with something of a hollow mid palate. There weren't any off flavors, but it just wasn't a very interesting beer. Mouthfeel is fairly full, with some noticeable alcohol in the finish (abv. was 7.4%, according to the beer list).
Not a bad beer, but considering all the great DIPA's made in the NW and West Coast, it's unimagineable to me that I would ever order this again.
