I was surprised. Great saison by Fremont. Almost on the crushable level.

Brewer says this is aged in gin barrels from Captive Spirits. Pours a hazy amber color with a splash of foam. Pleasantly spritzy on the tongue. Lovely nose of gin and tonic. Creamy mouthfeel.
Rather sweet and malty with a sensational mellow gin flavor. Woody and juniper-tinged. Fruity with some cider apple taste and rhubarb tartness. The thought of "custard apples" comes to mind. Some tangy spicy flavors add to the fun.
Somehow the rye works into this with a grainy background hint, but you wouldn't think of it. The Saison yeastiness makes its dry statement at the end. One of the best flavored brews I've had. On tap at the brewery in Fremont.
