i remember a gose from way back that was really good from fremont, straight ahead and clean, this must be a jazzed up version of that, done with cucumber, lime, and san juan sea salt, according to the very appealing branding for this one. maybe one shade maltier looking than expected, frothy headed and fizzy, a little hazy too but bubbly enough to look light. the cucumber is really forward to me, along with the clean lemony lactic character, green slightly bitter rind, natural as can be, hotel lobby water vibes, zesty lime in the mix, minerals, somewhat sturdy wheat malt, really nice, enough grain to be beery, which i dig, not overdone but bold with the cucumber. the flavor is right there too, cucumber forward which adds a cooling and quenching element to the flavor, very organic and real in here, not too vegetal or distracting, it is very well integrated, light watermelon rind and honeydew to it. the lime and the acidity are great, help incorporate the cucumber, and lean against the wheat foundation in a cool balancing act. this is amazingly refreshing on the palate, gone pretty quick on the swallow and in a huge rush of big bubbles, but the flavors scream summer, i need a boat for this one, a brilliant beer for hot weather no doubt, but i would drink this anytime too, i think its gose first, the salt and the sour are awesome, most robust right at the very end, but the cucumber and lime bring a lot here. one of my favorite flavored sours in awhile, at least of the kettle variety, not overly acidic which helps it be a real drinker. they nailed this. elevated an already excellent base gose. fremont crushes!

Canned 3/3/23
I had my first IPA from Fremont the other day courtesy of woemad for a BIF the other day, and I didn’t love it. I was thinking maybe they’re a brewery more equipped to brew Strong Ales and the like. But now I realize that he also sent me this. Can they pull of an old school style like Gose? Let’s crack it open and find out
Pours a cloudy pale yellow with 3 fingers of soapy white head that slowly fades to a thin cap and leaves minimal lacing
The cucumber is front and center in the nose, but compliments the style nicely. I’m picking up on aromas of cucumber, lemon zest, crackery malt, sea salt, earthy wheat, pear skin, light kiwi, and a touch of grassy hops
The cucumber doesn’t quite have the same balance in taste, though it’s still quite good. On the front end of the sip I’m tasting cucumber, bready malt, earthy wheat, lemon juice, apple skin, white pepper, and light kiwi. The swallow brings notes of cucumber, crackery malt, coriander, lemon zest, sea salt, earthy wheat, pear skin, and light white pepper
A light body pairs with moderate carbonation, resulting in a zippy and refreshing beer. Finishes bone dry and earthy
This is a very fun beer. Not something I’d drink every day, but it’s incredibly refreshing

32oz crowler poured in a small WABL glass. Bought the crowler 29 May.
Pours clear light yellow with a medium to large head and medium to high carbonation. Smell is tart, lemons, and vague vegetable.
Taste is mildly tart, slightly creamy, vegetable in a way that I recognize as cucumber because that's on the label. Overall light flavor, really.
Mouthfeel is generally quite light. Overall, solid beer.
