Sweet candied brown sugar, bran cereal, dark fruity Fig Newton's, and a subtle bourbon barrel nose on this one! Taste follows really well with a medium-bodied but soft, sweet and sticky, bourbon barrel finish. I mean...this is from 2020! 4 years old and still tasting fantastic! Wow! As it warmed and opened up, a faint hint (and I mean faint!) of age started to peek out at the very end of the swallow, but that it about it. This has held up so well! Delicious!

22oz. Waxed and capped bottle into a Side Project snifter.
Pours a dark, opaque mahogany. Minimal head, no lace, thick oily legs. Nose is raisin, plum, brown sugar gummies. Sweet. Beer opens raisin and sweet prunes. Brown sugar, molasses, and syrup in the middle. Layers of vanilla and a touch of barrel towards the finish. Body is full with moderate carbonation. Slightly prickly on the palate and goes down smooth and rich. Long, lingering aftertaste.
Solid. A touch on the sweet side.

22oz bottle into a tulip. Pours a murky mahogany with minimal head, just patches of foam left behind on the surface.
Aroma is rich and fruity, malty. Bourbon-soaked dates and figs, candi sugar, caramel, toffee, molasses. Oak, brown sugar, bready malt.
Taste follows nose. Rich, sweet and complex. Bready malt, brown sugar, booze, oak. Cinnamon, nutmeg and other holiday spices. Orange peel, vanilla.
Mouthfeel is thick, chewy, slick. Warming as it goes down.
Overall an outstanding English barleywine. Just delicious.

Pours a dark brown with a little murk to it. Head is two fingers of dense khaki foam. Aroma is caramel, toffee, molasses, raisins, and fig with delicate barrel character behind. It comes off sweet up front, but shows a sassy little bite of heat right at the finish. Flavor profile is caramel, molasses, raisins, chocolate, fig, and toffee in a decadent candy bar arrangement. Sweetness comes through strong with some barrel character to bring it back a little. Char accentuates the finish. Mouth feel is medium-thick with a creamy, velvety texture. Overall, a decadent barleywines with some lovely sugary notes out front, and enough depth to carry it.
Draft.
