Poured from 16oz tall can into my BeerAdvocate teku. Canned 5/18/20.
Appearance: light golden hue with a medium-light, shimmery haze. Head is two fingers of frothy, pillowy, ivory foam; I think it looks rather good.
Smell: a light tropical fruitiness topped with a mild coconut character. I like it, but there's also a bready, nutty malt element that doesn't quite fit; perhaps it's a function of the beer's age; I can't quite say. It's good, but the malt character is a bit of an intrusion.
Taste: the malt is sweet here, but doesn't undercut the tropical elements. If anything, it enhances the coconut. Again, I don't know if it is formulation or age, but just a bit more juicy, tropical character, along with the already-present coconut, could drive this thing into the stratosphere.
Mouthfeel: medium body with a big carbonation and really a very excellent creaminess for the style. Big and satisfying - I love it!
Overall: this beer isn't perfect in execution, but the overall plan was great. It's tasty and drinkable; I'd love a little more juice, but it's still a nice quaff.

16oz tallboy can purchased at Huckleberry's, in Spokane, Washington, for $3.39. According to the stamp on the bottom of the can, this was canned on May 18, 2020.
Poured into a Fremont shaker pint glass, this was a straw gold and amber color, with a big, sudsy white head. Lots of lace.
Pretty bland, restrained citrusy hop aroma at first. As it warmed, the coconut came out a bit, but it's not particularly strong.
A little more complicated than the aroma, but not terribly distinctive. Hop flavor is pretty mellow, although it melds well with the coconut. Just not in a way that rises far above bland.
Lightly oily mouthfeel.
Aside the appearance, the way the hops and coconut go together is probably the best aspect of this beer. But that doesn't overcome the overall blandness of this beer.

16 oz can purchased from Lifesource Natural Grocers in Salem OR.
$3.79
Coconut IPA!!!!..?
Pours a clear , slightly chilled, orange body with a lovely huge rocky white head.
Aromas of peaches, nectarines, strawberry , kiwi and yes a bit of coconut meat.
Taste mainly fruity but the coconut while not obvious lends a certain body to the taste and you get some in the after taste,
Nice mouth feel ..slightly dry coconut finish.
A weird beer but a good one.

16 oz. Can
PKGD: 05/18/20
Poured into a Tree House glass a very nice clean/clear dark yellow/orange color, very nice carbonation, with a very nice thick/creamy one-finger plus off-white head, which also leaves some pretty nice sticky lacing behind. The nose is hoppy, malty, with a pretty nice citrus complex (orange, tangerine, guava, mango, grapefruit), coconut, pretty nice pinyness. The taste is pretty nice hoppy, malty, with a pretty nice citrus complex (orange, tangerine, guava, mango, grapefruit) , coconut, pretty nice pineyness. Medium body, ABV hidden very nicely, with a nice little dry/bitter finish. Overall, this is a pretty tasty brew.

16oz can poured into an IPA nonic - can less than a month old.
A: Chill-hazed straw bordering on dull gold, with a hefty and fluffy white head that's fairly bright and laces well.
S: As expected, big aromatic coconut unfolding into a almost dessert-y tropical sweetness, reminiscent of cool whip at times (lactose?), with a trace of earthy spice.
T & MF: Coconut, vanilla, pineapple, and fresh mango...creamy, sweet, smooth...light-to-medium mouthfeel and body...very tropical, reminiscent of fruit cocktail & cream desserts.
O: I thought this was pretty damn awesome, very unique aromas and flavor profile and the palate really 'pops' with creamy tropical flavor. Recommended!

this is very good, nice and summery, drinkable for what it is, not overdone at all on the coconut, rather natural, and as good as i would expect something like this to be from these guys, who slay the hoppy stuff as well as anyone. its got a bright golden color to it, clear from the can, obviously well carbonated and with a very high rising white cream head. coconut flesh is clean and new and raw to me, not a toasted or desserty or rich vibe, but like right from the shell, which i think is perfect with these hops, whatever they are. they tease mango and papaya to me, a hint of pineapple too, the hops and coconut seem in harmony. the flavor is good, the coconut doesnt come until late, and it does linger a bit longer than i need it to, perhaps a touch sweet as it warms, but really bright flavors here, fresh and cohesive, minimal on the malt side for sure, and something quite refreshing for what it is, definitely still an ipa first which is nice, and way way way better than what almost every other example of coconut ipa ive had is bringing to the table. i wish it was a touch cleaner to finish, but its not sugar that makes it that way, and the beer is quite well refined overall. looking forward to the rest of the four pack in the fridge!

Poured into a Fremont pint glass. Pours a medium golden amber with a fine, two finger white head with great retention and thick lacing. Aroma of citrus and mildly dank hops, orange, hints of tropical fruit and light coconut. Flavor is pale and lightly caramel malt, citrus hops, orange, grapefruit, some light mixed fruit and coconut that develops into the finish, which has moderate citrus hop bitterness and lingering coconut. Medium bodied with light to moderate creaminess. Not sure I've had a coconut IPA that wasn't trying to be a mixed drink clone before. This has a somewhat mellow, solid malt and citrus character that leans towards a West Coast style and the promised coconut is present right away, but gets more developed as the taste progresses and lingers afterward. Somewhat tame IPA from by Fremont standards, but pleasant enough to support the coconut, which has a level appropriate for the flavor depth. I liked this more than I expected (I like coconut in porters and stouts, but have been on the fence in other styles). I'd get this again; great summer flavors and would taste good at the beach. Great can graphics as always from Fremont.

16oz can dated 05/18/20. Amazing wizard-mariposa label. Beer is crystal clear and pale golden, and pours with a ton of white head. Aroma is not so much coconut as juicy IPA. Flavor mixes the coconut in subtly with low-alpha hops. It's tasty enough, but there's just not that much flavor here, especially for a 7% IPA.

16oz can served in a big snifter. Packaged 05/18/20. Bought it yesterday at the brewery.
Pours clear amber-brass with a smallish head and a medium amount of carbonation. Smell is moderately coconut, more generically tropical, my brain tells me there's some vanilla in there.
Taste is clearly coconut. Very strong coconut flavor, with a very strong pine bitterness. Not 100% sure I would identify the flavor as coconut without the clue in the name, but the flavor is really strong (it's just not a flavor I'm usually looking for in a beer).
Mouthfeel is medium to light, pretty dry and crisp. Overall, really nice beer, but I think the coconut would get overwhelming. Also possible I would acclimate and barely even notice it. We'll see.

16oz can (dated 5/16/20) poured into 14oz teku. poured a clean, clear, bright gold color with over an inch of white head that had good retention and light lacing.
At first the aroma was just basic grains and some soft hops, but after a minute the coconut started showing through and became the dominant aspect.
Pretty similar on the tongue; solid malt, bright coconut, and some slightly bitter hops on the back end.
The body was crisp, sharp, and had a dry finish.
Drinkability was very nice, I could knock back a few more of these.
Overall, a solid and enjoyable brew, certainly worth your time if you see it.

This beer is so fresh that Fremont doesn't even have a picture of it on their website. I took a picture of the artistic can design but Beeradvocate's website doesn't cooperate with it's own standards. That aside, the Fremont Brewery has firmly established it's self as the top brewer in Washington, and maybe the entire Northwest, which has the best beer in the country (oh ya, that's a challenge.) In the spirit of Head Full of Dynamite, this IPA hits all the right notes. After a hard bike ride this beer sent me into a blissful orbit. You have to try it - if you can find it. I think you'll agree, it's DELISH!
