This hearty lager was brewed to celebrate the glorious return of Spring. Bloom is a Maibock and is warm golden in color with moderate sweetness and subtle bitterness, but has a slightly higher ABV than traditional lagers, making it the perfect transitional beer between seasons.
Down & Dirty: Bohemian Pilsner, Munich, Vienna, and acidulated malts with Northern Brewer and GR Tettnang hops.
35 IBU

16oz can served in a pint glass. Dated 05/20/2020. Bought it at the brewery yesterday.
Pours a rich clear caramel/amber color with a medium sized head with pretty nice retention. Medium carbonation. Smell is yeast, grass, something that vaguely reminds me of flowers. Also malted barley.
Taste is...delicate is not the right word. Nuanced is better. Totally has the upfront lager/yeast flavor, but not overwhelming, and a lot in the background. Some of the grass, but not too strong, some lemon, but not too strong, some biscuit, malt, and tea -- also not too strong. Noticeable but not pronounced bitter finish.
Mouthfeel is medium to light, not crisp (not sure if that's an expectation for maibocks or not, but if it was a pilsner I'd consider it a downer). Also not cloying. Overall...it's an excellent chill out beer. Tasty, enjoyable, not a kick in the teeth.
