Pour is about what you'd expect from a golden sour with blackberries: it's about the colour of watered down cranberry juice. Crisp and clear, with a little head that's faintly pink stained white... think those just not quite white rose petals.

Immediately upon popping the lid I get a blush of berry, but it doesn't really stick around. Once I've poured and started typing then stuck my nose in, it's much more of the tart side of blackberries. There's definitely still some juicy berries, but they're more early season than the sweet late summer jamminess that the berries can become. Some very light funk in there as well, and I wouldn't have guessed lime except for the label, as I think it mostly imparts a kind of crisp snappy finish to the aroma.

Very tart and berry-forward. My only regret here is that I kind of feel like it would have been even better on a hot sunny afternoon, but this is real tasty. A good amount of juiciness from the berries offsetting a strong tartness coming from the berries, some of the base sour, and the lime shows up more here than it did on the aroma.

Clean all across the body, with good spritzy carbonation that seems appropriate for the style. Medium bodied and easy drinking considering how tart it is (it is quite tart). Finish is both sour/tart and bitter, as that's where the lime pith really comes out the most.

This is slightly out of the wheelhouse that I typically associate with Fremont, style-wise, but as far as typical Fremont quality, there are no surprises here. This is a fantastic beer, and again my only regret is that I think it would be at its absolute best on a sunny afternoon instead of some random cold nighttime. I'm a sucker for blackberries in general (real-life, not just beer. One of my many favourite things about living in Seattle is that blackberries grow like weeds out here and so all summer it's just free berry smorgasborg time), and this is very much my jam.
edit: no pun intended.

375ml bottle served in a pair of tulips. Bought it at the brewery yesterday. Don't see a date on the bottle or the label.

Pours a clear purplish-red with a medium to small head. Smell is jammy berries, sweet-tart, and a little oak.

Taste is berries (but less jammy), very dry, more oak/tannins. Tart.

Mouthfeel is dry and light. Overall, very nice beer.
