Type: 16-oz. can
Reviewed as: New England IPA
Glass: Monkish 16-oz. mug
Price: $3.00 (I think)
From: Trader Joe’s in La Mesa, Calif.
Purchased: July 11, 2021
Consumed: July 23, 2021
Misc.: Canned on June 21, 2021 at 3:32 p.m. PT
Grabbed a can of this and a few others on a recent trip to Trader Joe’s. Had Rachel pick me up one of these. Had two of these prior to this one, giving v.9 (Sabro Cryo, Ekuanot and Amarillo) a 3.64 on March 8, 2019 and v.25 (Citra, El Dorado and Nelson Sauvin) a 3.76 on Jan. 11, 2021. Knew it was not quite as good as I hoped for but was even worse than I thought. This one (v.30) was Enigma, Mosaic and Nelson Sauvin. Two hops I love and Enigma, which is described as “It is juicy with red fruits like raspberries and red currants, but what sets it apart from other varieties are the white wine notes (similar to Nelson Sauvin), that is most often described as crisp and refreshing Pinot Gris.” Still looking forward to it.
Poured a medium yellow-to-light golden hazy color with 5-to-6 fingers of rocky white head. Lots of fast-moving bubbles coming up along the sides of the glass. Perfect layered foamy lacing. Perfect retention. (Sight - 4.75)
Smelled Nelson, white grape, viney berry, Mosaic, dank pine, skunk, Enigma (looking a hop profile), red currant and grapefruit rind. About as good from the can. (Smell - 4.00)
Tasted about as good as the nose, in order Nelson, dank, skunky pine, white grape, viney berry, Mosaic, floral, bitter citrus rind, Enigma (looking at hop profile), red currant and grapefruit peel. Almost more West Coast like than hazy, but I still liked it a lot. (Taste - 4.00)
Medium body. Creamy texture. Average-to-lively carbonation. Long, bitter finish. (Feel - 4.00)
Just an outstanding beer. For sure the best of the three Head Full of Dynamite beers I’ve had so far. (Overall - 4.00)

16oz can dated 6/25/21 poured into a Teku on 7/17/21.
Pours 2" of creamy white head. Opaque, hazy light orange color. Good lacing.
Aromas of cannabis and tropical fruit: melon, cantaloupe, and orange.
Blast of melon and cantaloupe flavor to start. Evens out toward the middle and finishes with a cannabis flavor and bitterness.
Medium-bodied, smooth, and creamy mouthfeel. A little astringency and effervescence, but largely juicy.
My favorite of this series, and the best hazy IPA I have had to date. Smooth like Georgetown's Bodhizafa, with dank catty bitterness from the Nelson Sauvin. Nuanced and excellent.

16 oz. Can
PKG: 06/25/21
Poured into a Tree House glass a very nice cloudy pale yellow/orange color, pretty nice carbonation, with a very nice thick/creamy one-finger plus off-white head, which also leaves some pretty nice sticky lacing behind. The nose is hoppy, malty, with a very nice citrus complex (orange, tangerine, grapefruit, pineapple, mango, peach, papaya, nectarine, apricot, melon), pretty nice diesel like. The taste is very nice hoppy, malty, with a very nice citrus complex (orange, tangerine, grapefruit, pineapple, mango, peach, papaya, nectarine, apricot, melon), very nice diesel like. Medium body, ABV hidden very nicely, with a nice little dry/bitter finish. Overall, this is a very tasty beer. Orange Julius! Addictive! MilkShake!

Poured from a 16 ounce can into an IPA glass.
Look- Frothy white head, deep straw, hazy, small amount of particulate sediment visible, above average lacing and head retention.
Smell- White grape, peach, floral, white wine like.
Taste- White grape, peach, melon, moderately herbaceous.
Feel- Medium body, moderate bitterness, dry finish reminiscent of white wine, moderate herbaceous finish, average carbonation.
Overall- This is the second beer I have had recently with Nelson Sauvin hops. Both have had a very white wine feel. I am not an expert of white wine (or beer), but I am not a huge fan of this hop.

16oz canned fairly recently, poured into a pub tumbler. Standard impressions from the hazy golden pour with a large, fluffy white/off-white head. Very familiar, grainy body with impressions of funky grapefruit and some soft Mosaic fruitiness. Light bitterness. Really nothing too special and not my favorite of the series, at all.

Very attractive pour. Loads and loads of fluffy white head with good retention and lacing. Glowing yellow / orange. Aroma has plenty of citrus notes. Taste has grapefruit notes. Pretty easy drinking. Soft, yet a little thin. Good beer.
