Handsome golden brew with a big foam in the Troubadour tulip. Great big fragrance with a whiff of orchids (that vanilla hint) and faintly, the horse barn.

Robust but refined malty brew. The sweet maltiness is a pleasure, edged by the dry yeasty taste. Fruity pear and peach flavors. Only a faint biterness. Light body but hugely flavorful.

Spritzy and refreshing with a From the 12 oz can purchased at the Pioneer Market in La Conner.

Harvest Ale from Fremont? Don't mind if I do!

This little saison is surprisingly bright and refreshing. Slightly sweet Belgian yeast profile is well balanced with stone fruit and faint spice. Reminds me of Boulevard's Tank 7 in some respects...and it's canned! Drank the first one way too fast and needed to immediately open a second.

To wit: This offering from Fremont is a bit of a diamond in the rough and deserves a higher overall rating than it currently has.

"...unfettered by spices."

No kidding; it's refreshing to have a saison-style American beer not loaded up with coriander or oranges or whatever the hell else. You'd miss, entirely, the nice wheat snap that's in this one. Fremont consistently impresses me, with a total lack of flashiness.
