Poured fresh from the tap at the Geelong Beer Festival in January 2024.
L: Deep, muddy copper. A thin rim of off-white head clings to the top of the beer. No carbonation seen through the murk.
S: Lactic cherry sourness. Maybe some wood.
T: Acetic and vinous tartness trending towards cherry. There are some sweet vanilla notes on the swallow. Long, zingy, sherbety aftertaste.
M: Mouthfeel is reasonably full for a sour beer. Carbonation is minimal, and the finish is thin.
O: This is a nice Flanders Red that doesn't tip into the too-sour trap that some Belgian examples fall into.
Cheers!
