Picked up a 750ml that has been aged 4 years at the Green point brewery on peconic. This gem was priced at $25.
Looks like Ris should, black as night with a head that players hide and go seek. Spot on.
Smells incredible. Almost a raisin like aroma. It smells like it's going to be super boozy. I got nervous at this point.
The taste is incredible! The aging process was done perfectly, as the booze is almost none existent. Up front it reminds me of ceillo chocolate covered cherries. It finishes with a cappuccino after taste.
Feels like RIS should. Just the right amount carbonation. Some tend to get too sticky, not here.
Overall... I've left Ris's on the shelf for a while as I've been going into bourbon barrelled, breakfast, milk, and every other stout you could think of. This has brought me back to when I took my first sip of old Rasputin. I will be buying a few more to keep for special occasions.

The beer pours in a black color.
The aroma offers licorice, rich dark chocolate, umami, meaty, dark toffee and caramel.
The flavor follows with a dark dried fruit, dried dates, roasted malts, lingering licorice, a medium caramel sweetness, hints of smoke and meatiness on the finish. The mouthfeel is full and luscious. A dry earthy hop quality on the finish.

Picked up a 16oz fill of this a few hours ago, enjoyed from my batch 002 TB snifter. Very happy to see some activity out of greenport harbor again.
Brew pours a thick lush black with a finger of frothy off grey tan Hubble head. Streaky lacing left as the head dissolves and the beer is sipped.
Nose is a nice meld of nuts and chocolate with some soft roast.
Taste slams you with big chocolate then glazes a nutty roast on the backend. There is some char in there, but this is definitely a meaty stout and not anything like the char from a porter. Really chocolate on chocolate with some Reese's too it. Very drinkable and decadent, great dessert brew. Full and rich but an easy drinker.
Overall another slam dunk from greenport harbor. One of the big surprise RIS that I have had in a while. I had heard good things about this one but reviews are lackluster...I dunno, I am fairly impressed with this one. DEFINITELY check this one out if you get a chance.

Grabbed a full growler without even trying it because I'm the shit.
Pretty normal black pour with not much of a nose. Some sweet malts but still really tame.
The taste comes off all about chocolate. Big time sweet chocolate upfront and very sweet for an irs. Malts are there on the back end but subtle and really closed off. Booze is hidden well but god damn the chocolate!
