The intense flavor and aroma come from over 600 lbs of raspberries used to brew this popular beer.

Reviewed from notes. From my AZ trip. The appearance was a slight red haze to the color. Bar pour leads to a slim less than a quarter finger white head that leaves no lacing. The smell had a ton of raspberries to the nose. I read in the notes that they put 600 lbs of raspberry in this. Trust me, its there, holy moley its there, its not overbearing, because its smells authentic not like puree or anything of the sort, light malts do come in as it warms. The taste was mainly sweet throughout the entire beer, raspberry aftertaste, sweet raspberry watery finish. On the palate, it sat about a light to medium in body, somewhat sessionable (though I had it for dessert without food), and the carbonation is fairly subdued, but not off. Overall, despite the slightly watery finish everything else seems just fine and I could see this with some cheesecake though I didn’t see any on the menu, I think if Thunder Canyon put some on the menu it could do this beer some justice.

This beer sits with a pretty clear, red color and is topped by a thin, wispy, tan, ring shaped head that clings to the edges of the glass. There is a definite raspberry aroma; it smells like raspberry syrup and not much else.

The taste is lightly sweet up front and it gets sweeter as it passes through my mouth. The body seems light at first but picks up some heft from the malt sweetness that is found in this brew. The raspberry notes are definitely the dominant flavors found in this beer, though not as much as the aroma might have suggested. Raspberry character adds a touch of acidity to the finish. This is a light and easy drinking beer and the raspberry is not too overwhelming for e. Nice and clean fermentation character with no real flaws detectable. Having said that, this beer really does not do much for me, but I am a bit adverse to raspberry flavored beers.
