Flavor is ok. Light bodied porters are just not for me, so take the rating with a grain of salt

Rerate: Somewhat better flavour this time, I’m upping it a couple points, but this is still not the very best porter I’ve had.
Original rating: 500 ml bottle, courtesy of Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. Also kindly supplied to me by Ole R, from Fenaknoken, Oslo. Bottle conditioned, ABV is 4.7%. Black colour, with a big to moderate tan head, no lacing. Nice roasty aroma, notes of coffee and dark chocolate, just a hint of liquorice. The flavour and mouthfeel are somehat acidic, watery / thin and bland for a porter, there is a moderate roastiness but not much else to interest me. Metallic finish. Disappointing.

330ml 'big mouth' can.
Pours black with a big, bright red (very unusual!) head that disappears in an instant. Flat and black basically.
Smells faintly of dark malt. Pleasant but not much of it.
Underwhelming, lightly roasted, chocolate flavour.
Dry, fizzy, otherwise light body. Unappealing.
Very disappointing. Not much flavour. Looks flat but is actually gassy. Weird.

Can. Very dark brown. Reddish tinge. Thick and then dissipating head.
Weak coffee and brown bread aroma. Lightly smoked.
The taste reflects the smell. Toasted and sweet.
Medium body. Smooth, creamy and drinkable.

Norway should know how to develop this British style.
This is the third good Norwegian porter I've tasted. While none are great, I recommend Aegir's.

Pours deep ruby, brown. Bright light does pass. The head is rim bubbles. Only a couple of spots for lace.
Burnt coffee roast with just a modicum dark, baker's chocolate. Some burnt toast.
Creamy body with a diminished carbonation. All of the smells come through in the taste, with an emphasis on the burnt toast, coffee and cream. I catch some hop in the swallow, but the aftertaste is purely cafe au lait.
