Deep, dark color; appears black in the glass, opaque; thin yet lasting ring of tan foam circling the inside of the glass. Heavenly note of dark chocolate and grain char; sly element of whiskey. Outlandish taste; rich milk chocolate; roasted and charred grain; cherry and strawberry hints; boozy. Incredibly dense and viscous mouthfeel; sticky; sublime alcohol warmth.
This stupendous barrel aged imperial stout is phenomenal. There is no ABV mentioned on the label or the brewery's web site, but I'd guess we're somewhere around 12-13%. The balance and complexity are amazing. I am glad I got a second bottle of this beer. It should age well and be quite the treat down the road.

The pour is jet black with a tan & frothy head of foam. The body is medium to full & on the taste I'm getting some bourbon barrel oak, rich roasted malt, dark chocolate, black cherry, molasses, & tobacco char. Moreover, the 16% abv feels more like a 13% abv beer. Cheers! A (World Class)

Pours jet black with no head on top. Strong bourbon barrel smell along with dark fruit. Sweet dark fruit taste with roasted malt on the aftertaste. Barrel isn’t present.

Appearance -The beer poured thick, inky black in color with little head.
Smell - Chocolate and barrel were the dominant notes in the nose.
Taste - The taste was very chocolate forward at the front. Notes of licorice, rye, and caraway seed followed. The barrel notes were smooth and added a bit of spice. There was not a hint of burn.
Mouthfeel - The body was slick and sticky, but not overly thick.
Overall - This is definitely worth seeking.

Pitch black opaque body, oatmeal colored cap, dotted lacing. Roasted malt with deep character, warm bourbon with soaked dark oak, licorice, dark chocolate, and an emergent toffee as it warms. Taste I find the roasted malt and licorice are what is standing out the most. The barrels are there but they are background to a classic well done roasty stout. More fudgy chocolate rounds out with the nose notes. Feel is roasty, dry, boozy, and malty, so classically done though barrel character good but not great. Great for late winter

Look - Pours a pitch black color with a nice creamy light brown head. Nice looking beer!
Smell - Malt, oak, bourbon, toffee, .
Taste - Toffee, malt, and bourbon.
Feel - Nice feel for a 16%ABV stout. I didn't suspect it was that high.
Overall - A very nice stout from Kuhnhenn. I hope I get to try their Bourbon Barrel Aged Fourth Dementia someday.

About as black as any stout I’ve tried. A hard pour resulted in a very thin tan head that instantly disappeared. Nice aroma: toffee, ripe dark fruit, roasted malt & charred oak. Balanced amounts of sweet & bitter. Flavors: earthy. raisin, black licorice, pepper, vanilla ,dark chocolate, alcohol & more alcohol. Very thick, no discernible carbonation, lots of stomach heat. ABV is not listed on the bottle but I’ll believe the 16% stated here. Overall: very boozy, excellent.

2024 vintage. A December bottling, I believe, so relatively fresh. Drinking 3/14/25. Courtesy of a very generous @noblepudding
Pour is jet black with a deep brown finger of head that fades to a nice ring around the glass.
Nose is a big wave of bourbon, chocolate, fudge, roasted malt, some molasses and dates.
Taste is a big hit of milk chocolate, followed by bourbon before drifting into coffee, roasted malts, molasses, dates, lingering toasted marshmallow, some estery yeast notes show up as the beer warms.
Full, creamy body. Easy to sip - a big beer that doesn't get too sweet.
Overall this is a very good beer. Complex and balanced. Nothing dominates

Super dark black poor. No real head.
Slight sweetness on the nose.
Extremely smooth and delicious. Very different than other strong stouts.
Very overpriced, but very good beer.
