Very Good
Notes: Black in color, this Oatmeal stout has a mild roasted grain aroma, with no hop presence. It is medium bodied with a dry palate. The addition of oats add a grainy quality to this drinkable malty stout.

Served on-tap at The Ginger Man in NYC.

Appearance is dark brown with a short tan head. Its` nose is a mix of roasted malts and chocolate for the most part. Taking a sip and I taste some oats, malts, more chocolate, overall a tasty beer. It is not overly sweet, or overly bitter. The mouthfeel is medium with a velvet texture. Overall, a very good stout and sessionable, especially compared to some other beers from KBC.

Lots of lace, not much head, and Dark colour. medium mouthfeel. Chocolate malts.lots of roast. Easy on carbonation, some nuttiness and coffee in finish. Roasty aftertaste. I have had bolder oatmeal stouts, maybe it is different in the bottle.Still enjoyable.

Served at the brewpub. Very dark brown with mahogany highlights and a dense mocha head that produced spotty lace. The roasted aroma was well-balanced, not overdone, with mild hops and a definite oat character. Coffee becomes more evident as it warms. Sweet maltiness was almost balanced with mild bitterness. Plenty of roast and oat flavour throughout, with mild chocolate notes and some acidity in the finish. Silky body with a dry finish. A tasty oatmeal stout. It would be pretty easy to drink a few of these in a sitting.

This is easily one of the most drinkable stouts I've ever imbibed. No microbrewery should be able to make a brew this good, no way!

Pours a dark black with a foamy tan head to compliment. Nose is bittersweet chocolate, tons of roast. Taste follows sweet, but is quite creamy and grainy, beautiful. Overall a very nice staple sort of stout, medium on the mouthfeel making it extremely drinkable. Very fresh and masterfully crafted.

Very dark, with a thin tan head. Mahogany highlights rim the edge of the beer. Hints of roasted malt, toasted oatmeal, and sweet chocolate in the aroma. Smooth up front, with weak coffee flavors and a sweetness I just can't seem to place. Slightly smoky on the finish. Smooth mouthfeel, nice and oily. Drinkability is good, but there's a slightly "off" flavor that detracts just a bit. Might be from the yeast, could be age. Not sure. Regardless, the beer isn’t bad, just different. I'd still have a few pints, and if it was my own brew, I'd enjoy the entire batch. This beer just seems to be a step below the other offerings I've tried from Kuhnhenn, which is still a few steps above most brewpubs.

Pours a very carbonated dark black color with a big white head. Tons of lace on the glass.
Aromas of oatmeal, bread, slighly roasted coffee and nminor hop biterness.
Flavor is very thin and watery, slight syrupy sweetness is present and finish is very abrupt and unsatisfying. This beer looked much better than it tasted. Not unpleasant just very bland. Very thin given style and drinkability very average.

Served room temperature, this beer had a dense, whipped-cream head that took a half an hour to melt.
This batch is beginning to sour slightly as it is tart with apply, black-skinned fruit flavors in the beginning and roasty/sour ones on the finish. Plenty of coffee and some cocoa flavors appear. Very thick, there is a medicinal, petroleum-like flavor in the mid-palate.
Daring style if intentional.

Disturbingly good for a small, local microbrew. Just outright disturbingly good. Pitch black with brown highlights around the edge of glass. A thick, foamy tan head.

Toffee, light chocolate, and some thick burnt malt aromas. Begins sweet and gets slathered in bittersweet, roasted malts and finishes with a medium hoppy bitterness. Nice medium-full body. Just easier than all hell to drink for a stout. You could seriously drink this one all damn night.
