This dark golden lager has wonderful maltiness and subdued hop character. Made with European malts, it is smooth and clean. This is a Keller version of the beer, meaning it is unfiltered.

Pint on tap at the Kuhnhenn tap room.

Poured a nice amber color, with a malty caramel smell. The sweetness comes through nicely on the front, with a crisp Hallertau hop finish. The beertendress mentioned some complained the Maibock had sour notes but I didn't notice any off-putting flavor at all. Solid representation of a style I truly enjoy.

Malty sour and sweet. A nice long bitterness.Caramel malted. Apple and a tad harsh. Lots of lace. Not the best example I remember of this style, still refreshing and enjoyable. Perhaps a week or so beyond when it would be best freshly served. Suitably carbonated, not as soft as the others but appropriate.

Sampled on draught @ Kuhnhenn Brewing Company in Warren, Michigan. Deep copper color. Beautiful malt aroma bursting with caramel and toffee, cinnamon apples and light fruit. Texture is creamy and extremely smooth, perfect for a Maibock. Flavor is heavenly, well extracted and loaded with luscious caramel, apple and toffee malt flavors. This was a very good, serious rendition.

Excellent spring seasonal beer on tap @ the Kuhnhenn pub.

This one screams spring! Pours a medium amber, cloudy with a thin head that dissolved to nothing after a minute or so. Smell is quite malty and smooth, hints of esters abound. Taste is quite similar, surprising hints of banana and an almost bubble-gum like effect as well. Very malty and fruity, just enough bitterness to even it out a bit.

Very nice and perfect for spring! I could drink alot of this.
