MBG WinterFest 2008, sample from oak barrel.
Poured hazy reddish brown with an average fizzy off-white head that lasted with good lacing. Heavy raspberry, tart fruity and wood aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture. Medium sweet & sour fruity balanced flavor and a medium sweet woody finish of moderate duration.
Good young brew that should be better with some age.

Extreme Beer Fest 2/15/08: Dark red/brown, murky in appearance. I loved the aroma: raspberries, flowers--it smelled like a meadow. The taste didn't quite live up to my expectations from the aroma though. Too much wood and not enough of the framboise and other flavors. Strong alcohol presence. It was ok.
