Creamy copper in color, the ale has distinct Belgian aromas. Moderately spicy with orange-like fruitiness, this medium-bodied beer is refreshing, light, and beautiful on a summer day.

On tap at Kuhnhenn's brewery in Warren. The first time I've seen or heard of this beer, so I had to give it a shot. It pours the color of a copper penny that's been sitting underneath a subway grating for a few years. Very good clarity, only with a mild chill haze that interferes but gets clearer with time. White, creamy head leaves thick lacing behind; a nice looking brew.
Todd Parker Can't Lose pulls you through a field of grassy hops; kind of faint, with some Belgian yeast that goes off on a tangent in the background. Bubblegum, clove and coriander spice, and a finishing touch of lemon-lime citrus. There's actually a strange aroma of mild tomato or vegetal notes that pops in and out at times; enigmatic, and more powerful the warmer this beer gets.
The flavor is quite a bit fruitier than the aroma would indicate; oranges, grapes, pear, and a touch of banana. The initial moments of each sip is actually quite nice. Mild, dingy hops are pushed to the background, but can be pulled out if you're searching hard enough. Grassy, musty, and seemingly dry with a tame, back-end bitterness that hits the back of the tongue.
Pretty earthy and dirty overall, and the Belgian yeast doesn't stand out on the palate like it did in the aroma, although maybe it contributes to some of the fruitiness in the front of each sip. Thin bodied, but substantially "thick enough" for a brew that's only 4.75% ABV. Carbonation is good, crisp finish with a wet and bubbly mouth feel.
After Simcoe Silly, probably one of my least favorite Kuhnhenn brews, I was afraid of trying another Belgian Pale Ale from them. This beer was far from fantastic, but it was miles better than Simcoe Silly... Perhaps it's the Simcoe that killed things for me? This brew tastes like it uses Noble hops, which work much better with the Belgian yeast.
