Pours a clear, amber color with some suspended particulates. 1/3 inch head of a white color. Slight retention and slight lacing. Smells of strong alcohol, slight sweet malt, slight yeast, hint of spice, and citrus (like cider). Fits the style of a Saison / Farmhouse Ale. Mouth feel is sharp and crisp, with an average carbonation level. Tastes of strong alcohol, sweet malt, pale malt, spice, citrus (cider like apple), and strong floral. Overall, the floral, alcohol, and spice dominate too a detrimental degree because none of them are very good.

L: Thick and hazy gold with huge head that overflowed my glass. Some visible "debris" from the spices and fruits used during brewing.
S: Clear smell of the spices used, very light and perhaps a little peppery. The spicy smell is pretty gentle and doesn't come off too aggressively. Very faint hint of hops, but only a shade.
T: First splash of flavor is heavily spiced. Makes me great drinking it in winter instead of summer. Some pepper and lighter citric spices that blend into some gentle hops very nicely. Its a little sharp toward the tail end of the sip, but its very much the traditional saison kind of sharp, not at all a bitter or hoppy sharp. Very full flavor that uses its spices, hops, and even fruit fruit very well.
F: Much heavier than I thought it would be, definitely not a beer to just throw down. medium body that leaves a fresh feeling on the tongue.
O: Definitely my favorite beer from Battered Boar, even if the head was a little much to handle. Just wish I had it in the summer on a sunny day.
