Reviewed from (very long-standing) notes. Poured from a 750 mL bottle into an Upland Brewing pint glass.
A: Dark copper and hazy, with average visible carbonation. Forms a two-finger off-white head that has pretty good retention. Maybe darker than expected, but otherwise nice.
S: Grassy, vegetal, and slight resinous hops. Lightly toasted cracker malts. Not a huge nose anyway.
T: Grassy hops on a big malt base – bready with a touch of sweetness. Lesser notes of vegetal, herbal, and resin hops. Lightly bitter with lingering malt sweetness in the hang.
M: Average body, carbonation sensation a bit on the low side. Alcohol presence seems about average.
O: Acceptable at best. Nothing exciting, and the flavors from most "all-Citra" beers are sadly absent.

Claimed citra. Was not there. Overly malty and quite forgettable.

On tap at the brewery. Pours a deep reddish amber with one finger creamy white to off-white head. Aroma is sweet citrus and a bit of pine. Flavor follows very similarly to the Strain A version (Centennial, Cascade, and Simcoe), but with an extra sweet citrus and a little less earthy. As with the regular version, this seems more on the APA side than the IPA side. Overall I liked this one a bit better due to the fruit flavors. Palate is slick and medium, with lower carbonation than I’d want with the style. Overall a solid beer.
