Messed up when adding this beer, obviously this is a RIS and not an AD/IS but no biggie. Poured from 22oz into Spiegelau Stout Glass. No bottling date.

L: Nearly opaque, deep dark brown with ruby edges when held against the light. Two finger tan head forms and sticks around for quite a while. Quite splendid lacing here.

S: Quite chocolatey, not so much dark but milk chocolate, with a faint vanilla probably from the bourbon barrel, some wood smoke but no sherry. Nice aroma.

T: Again a lot of chocolate but the vanilla note is amplified here because the bourbon barrel aging is much more prominent. The bourbon is tactfully done here, it is not overpowering like a lot of BBA Stouts. Enough to notice and enjoy yet lending room for the other flavors. Very very tasty. Not the most complex but let's wait a while as it warms and see.

F: Full bodied, good amount of carbonation, semi-dry finish. Super smooth and velvety mouthfeel. Really quite nice.

O: Wow I am very impressed. Mother Earth really has shown me they can make good beer. Honestly if they tweaked this a little to add some complexity then this would be a sister beer to Founders' Kentucky Breakfast Stout.
