Silent Night - Whiskey Barrel-Aged

L: Had this beer on-tap at Brewmasters - Wilson, poured into a snifter glass. Had a dark brown / black color and a thick, opaque consistency. There was a quarter inch of foamy, tan-colored, fairly long-lasting head. Good lacing.

S: A very nice aroma of coffee, roasted malt, whiskey, chocolate, and a smoky quality.

T: Tasted of a good amount of roasted malt (present throughout), some dark chocolate notes (nicely done), a light smokiness, some coffee, and a good shot of whiskey (and its barrel). A much more subtle and less aggressive flavor than expected, but definitely tasty. It's quite well-balanced and certainly focused.

F: A decent amount of carbonation with a silky smooth finish. Medium-bodied.

O: An extremely likable stout. Worth a try.
