Early in my Beer Career, Kasteel was perhaps my favourite Belgian. I remember working my way through a case of Donker, the only time I've bought a case of anything. It has been many years and many more brews since then, but still I'm glad to add another Hansebrouck brew; a very gentle BPA. I bought my copy at Carrefore in the Brussels' Midi station.
Xtra opens Looking good, big fluffy head that sticks around as lace and stays active until my glass is empty. Smells are more modest, mostly malt and some harvest tree fruit. Tastes are well-balanced; hops entering mid-palate to counter the sweet malt with both playing nice in the finish. Full-mouthed for this light style and so very soft on my tongue.
Starting my Xtra as an aperitif, I slipped into a spicy curry dish (and decided water was better and I should save the Xtra.) Finished it 30 minutes later as Xtra had calmed my palate along with some Camembert. Surprisingly versatile with the spicy food, but fatty food is more monkish. A simple brew, made to complement a simple lifestyle.

Bottle at Coriasso's, served in a trappist glass. Clear yellow color, medium head with average retention, creamy lacing. Aroma of citrics, ripened fruits, hops, grass. Medium body, thin texture, average carbonation. Citric finish. Taste follows the aroma. Drinkable.
