A unique name for a beer, I had to look it up to confirm it was related to some firearm, or at least I think it is. I am using a pint glass, and the serving temperature is 42 degrees. The pour is creamy and foamy, with a three-fingered white head that has above-average retention. The somewhat slow dissipation left chunks of lacing on the glass. The beer's color is amber with dark golden yellow hues; the clarity is clear, and it charts at an SRM of 6. The appearance of the beer is average.
Nosing the beer, I smell toasted bread, crackers, light floral esters, a touch of resin, light malty sweetness, and grassy.
The flavors are straightforward with notes of toasted bread, crackers, a faint hint of caramel, floral bouquet, minerality, light malty sweetness, a touch of resin, and a subtle herbal note.
The mouthfeel is crisp, finishing light and refreshing. The body is light with medium-plus carbonation.
Final Thought: An easy sipper after a long day at work. The beer is plain but in a good way—a great camping beer, perfect for enjoying by the fire on a weekend with good company.
