Note: It was hard to pigeonhole a style for this one. It is certainly a lager, but the zesty finish suggests the addition of lemon (zest?), yet not enough that I would think of it as a fruit beer.
Appearance - 3.0
Tight white head settles at a thin layer, the beer is pale gold in colour as ever so slightly hazy with some very fine suspended sediment
Smell - 3.5
Sweetish aroma of grainy malt, floral hops and lemon.
Taste - 3.5
Quite sweet upfront with a grainy malt base, a little American hop character and citrus. Restrained bitterness and slightly dry in the finish.
Mouthfeel - 4.0
Light bodied with light to moderate carbonation, very smooth.
Drinkability - 4.0
Would be good as a summer session beer, or with a seafood meal.
OVERALL - 3.5
Very refreshing and would no doubt go brilliantly with seafood. Perhaps not a beer snob's beer, but very pleasant and easy to drink.
