look: 3 | smell: 2.75 | taste: 2.5 | feel: 3 | overall: 2.75
Appearance: Dusky pink peach. Head is bright-white and soapy. Moderate carbonation on the pour. Relatively clear with a slight chill haze.
Smell: Vague hints of dark cherry juice that harkens to snow cones of yesteryear. A touch of grass and lager yeast thrown in with a solid blast of sugary sweetness. Some hay with a mild citric element right on top. Warming ups the sweetness a bit and lets a little more of a slightly medicinal cherry element pop. Hints of cough syrup and old cherry candy.
Taste: Base lager hits immediately with a slightly grassy tone. Touches of hay with a super clean lager yeast. Gives way to a syrupy, sweet, medicinal dark cherry that sits somewhere in the intersection of cough drop, cherry candy, snow cone, and popsicle. Warming melds everything a touch more, but the syrupy cherry flavor persists and sticks. The similarity to snow cone syrup just keeps coming back. It almost tastes like a low grade grenadine - pomegranate. Vague hints of earth and dirt layered through the back. Sweet without really being sugary.
Mouthfeel: Medium leaning to light body with a moderate carbonation. Slightly dry with a clean finish.
Overall: The liquid at the bottom of the cup.
Get a Black Cherry Del's and then drink the liquid at the bottom of the cup and this is what you have. I guess that's the point, but it just doesn't resonate. The cherry is too syrupy and sticky.

Can. Pours a murky, ruddy, brownish hue. Aroma is immediately unattractive. It smells of fake cherry, and odd must and creepy sweetness. Flavor is actually worse. I couldn't imagine slugging back more than a few sips of this beer. The flavors surrounding that fake cherry are what truly dooms this beer. Not a great aftertaste, either. Musty is the best way to describe it. Wouldn't return.
