Had a pint at the brewery - they have it both on keg and on cask, and I had the cask version. Served at proper cask temperature, and a gorgeous copper color with half inch of head that lasted leaving lace down the sides of the glass.

Aroma of caramel and bread with a slight nose of hops. Taste is a tiny bit sweeter than I'd prefer, but otherwise heavenly. Nicely balanced between the hops and the malt.

A phenomenal session beer...I could drink this all night. Just a really good ESB.

 

Pours a clear, copper color. 1/3 inch head of a white color. Good lacing and good retention. Smells of slight pale hop, sweet malt, slight citrus, and slight grain. Fits the style of an Extra Special / Strong Bitter. Mouth feel is sharp and crisp with an average carbonation level. Tastes of sweet malt, dry hop, slight yeast, grain, and slight honey. Overall, an average ESB with lots of grain flavor.

Had on cask (and at the right temperature) at the brewpub.

This beer was presented in a Imperial pint glass. It pumped a beautiful burnt toffee with a massive, creamy off beige head that lasted for days, leaving lacing only seen on the likes of massive Double IPA's. This is simply a gorgeous beer. The aroma is caramel, toffee and just a slight bit of yeasty biscuits. The flavor follows suit with big caramel and toffee notes up front rounding into yeasty biscuits and toast. The mouthfeel is full and creamy with no hint of artificialness, that's found in so many poorly made cask ales. This beer is fantastic. I can easily say this is the best beer I've ever had at 75th Street Brewery. They nailed the ESB style and they nailed how this beer should be don in cask. Simply marvelous. This is the best cask ESB I've had on this side of the pond.
