always dig the beers they come up with in here, and this one is especially good. a style i am really liking these days, and a good example of it. real clean for a saison, yeast driven still sure, but instead of the spicy or funky yeast profile we usually see in these, its more of a clean and tidy belgian yeast element with just a bit of fruitiness to it, really flavorful beer. the malt is very dark in color, but doesnt dip down into that real heavy roast character like a stout might have, instead its just the color. burnt toast, chocolate, and minerals in the taste, a soft raisin and plum fruit flavor from the yeast, and a cool almost white wine flash of tannins, short of acidic or anything. lighter bodied for its color, effervescently carbonated, and with a bowl of their meaty red chili, it is a wonderful experience. not enough of these out there, and even though this isnt as wild on the yeast as it could be, its really beautiful beer. i have been really impressed with all of their beers lately!

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
