Pours deep dark coffee with slight fading khaki froth. Notes of coffee espresso, dark chocolate and vanilla nut. Excellent local Ladyface micro stout at 8.5% ABV.
Update: so sad to hear that Ladyface Brewing & Tavern Tomoko is closing. I just had the VERY LAST pour from their most wonderful stout. Savoring every last drop! You will be missed by many.

Appearance: Arrives pitch black covered by a mocha head that dissipates; some spots of foam cling
Smell: Roast and chocolate, with a hint of coffee
Taste: Roast forward with chocolate tones; the hops add a a significant citrusy bitterness that complements the coffee; slightly oaky, in the finish
Mouthfeel: Full body with low to moderate carbonation
Overall: Taste, but not what I would consider a RIS; more like an American Double Stout, given the hops and the lack of a dark fruit character
